【摘要】:Coefficientsoflinearthermalexpansionareusedfordesignandqualitycontrolpurposesandtodeterminedimensionalchangesofpartsandcomponents(suchascarbonanodes,cathodes,andsoforth)whensubjectedtovaryingtemperatures.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecoefficientoflinearthermalexpansion(CTE)forcarbonanodesandcathodesusedinthealuminumindustry,inbakedform,byuseofavitreoussilicadilatometer.1.2Theapplicabletemperaturerangeforthistestmethodforresearchpurposesisambientto1000176;C.Therecommendedmaximumusetemperatureforproductevaluationis500176;C.1.3ThistestmethodandprocedureisbasedonTestMethodE228,whichisagenericall-encompassingmethod.Specificsdictatedbythenatureofelectrodecarbonsandthepurposesforwhichtheyareusedareaddressedbythisprocedure.1.4Electrodecarbonsinthebakedformwillonlyexhibitprimarilyreversibledimensionalchangeswhenheated.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
