【摘要】:ThispartofIEC60099coversmetal-oxidesurgearresterswithexternalseriesgap(externallygappedlinearresters(EGLA)thatareappliedonoverheadtransmissionanddistributionlines,onlytoprotectinsulatorassembliesfromlightning-causedflashovers.Thisstandarddefinessurgearresterstoprotecttheinsulatorassemblyfromlightning-causedovervoltagesonly.Therefore,andsincethemetal-oxideresistorsarenotpermanentlyconnectedtotheline,thefollowingitemsarenotconsideredforthisstandard:?switchingimpulsesparkovervoltage;?residualvoltageatsteepcurrentandswitchingcurrentimpulse;?thermalstability;?long-durationcurrentimpulsewithstandduty;?power-frequencyvoltageversustimecharacteristicsofanarrester;?disconnectortest;?agingdutiesbypower-frequencyvoltage.Consideringtheparticulardesignconceptandthespecialapplicationonoverheadtransmissionanddistributionlines,someuniquerequirementsandtestsareintroduced,suchastheverificationtestforcoordinationbetweeninsulatorwithstandandEGLAprotectivelevel,thefollowcurrentinterruptingtest,mechanicalloadtests,etc.DesignswiththeEGLA'sexternalseriesgapinstalledinparalleltoaninsulatorarenotcoveredbythisstandard.
